INFORMATION ON THE RACE SCHEDULE AND RACE COURSE LENGTH

The start and finish of the races is at the Poljica Square (Poljički trg) in Omiš.

• HALF MARATHON

Start: Saturday, 21 October 2023, at 10 a.m.

Poljički trg (50 meters upstream from the bridge on the left bank of the Cetina river) – 5.274 km upstream along a flat course through the Cetina river canyon – turn around and follow the same course back to the start/finish line at 10.548 km – turn around – follow the same course to the same turnaround at 15.817 km (5.274 km) – turn around – follow the same course downstream (back to the start/finish line).

The half marathon race course is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

• RECREATIONAL 6 KM RACE

Start: Saturday, 21 October 2023, at 10 a.m.

Poljički trg (50 meters upstream from the bridge on the left bank of the Cetina river) – 3 km upstream along a flat course through the Cetina river canyon – turn around and follow the same course back to the start/finish line

CATEGORIES AND MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS

• HALF MARATHON

Minimum age requirement for the half marathon distance is 18 years of age on race day. Persons younger than 18 years of age are not allowed to participate in the half marathon race.

CATEGORIES:

• women: WU23, WS, W35, W40, W45, W50, W55, W60, W65, W70+
• men: MU23, MS, M35, M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70 +

RECREATIONAL 6 km RACE

All underaged participants must present a signed consent by their parents/legal guardians, and those under the age of 12, in addition to the parents’/guardians’ consent, must submit a medical certificate by a sports medicine physician. The listed documents are submitted when registering for the race.

PRIZE MONEY

Prize money will be awarded by the Organiser for the top results in the half marathon race. Prize money will be distributed among the winners as follows, based on the overall ranking achieved in the race:

1^st place 250.00 EUR

2^nd place 150.00 EUR

3^rd place 100.00 EUR

4^th place 70.00 EUR

5^th place 50.00 EUR

All prize money winners will receive an information sheet at the winner announcement ceremony indicating the details to be sent to info@visitomis.hr in order for their prizes to be paid.

BONUS MONEY

Bonus money will be paid to runners who achieve extraordinary results, i.e. set a new course record:

PARTICIPANTS WITH FREE ENTRIES AND ACCOMMODATION

HALF MARATHON

Free entry

The Organiser provides free entries for: last year’s competitors who took the top three places in the half marathon race in W/M overall ranking (6 free entries).

Free entries and accommodation

In addition, the Organiser provides 3 packages including free race entry and accommodation (1 overnight stay for 2 persons) for runners who meet the qualification time requirement. Runners interested in free race entry and accommodation, who meet the mentioned requirement, should send an application containing proof of the met requirement by 1 June 2023 to info@visitomis.hr. After the specified deadline, the Organiser can send out invitations for participation in the race under the conditions specified, to fill the planned number of free entry and accommodation packages (3).

Qualification time requirements for free race entry and accommodation:

Women < 1:25

Men < 1:18

The packages are awarded in the order of application (to the first three applicants who meet the requirement set).

GROUP REGISTRATION DISCOUNT

Group registration refers to the registration of 10 or more members of a group participating in either the half marathon race or the recreational 6 km race. A group registration entitles you to a 20% discount on the total entry fee for the group, which is allowed at the time of payment of the group entry fee (or of each individual entry fee within the group). A group registration with the specified discount is accepted and valid only with prior notice to the Organiser (sent to info@visitomis.hr), containing the confirmation of payment, names and surnames of competitors, and the specification of the race in which each individual competitor will participate.

CHANGE OF REGISTRATION, ENTRY FEE REFUNDS AND TRANSFERS

Paid entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to future races.

A paid entry fee may be transferred to another registered participant by 18 October 2023, through a mandatory notification of the transfer to the Organiser via e-mail (to info@visitomis.hr).

No transfer of entry fees to other participants is possible after 18 October 2023.

By 18 October 2023, race changes are possible without compensation or a refund of the excess paid entry fee. The change of registration is possible through www.utrka.com or by contacting the Organiser via info@visitomis.hr. In case of change of registration from the recreational 6 km race to the half marathon race, a confirmation of payment of the entry fee difference must be sent (or submitted) to the Organiser in order for the registration to be correctly recorded.

LIMITATIONS

• TIME LIMITATION

The duration of the half marathon race is limited to 2 hours and 30 minutes.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS AND AWARD CEREMONY

The announcement of winners will take place at 1 p.m. at the Poljički trg (Poljica Square).

Medals and trophies won, as well as paid but not claimed start packages, can be claimed later only in person at the premises of the Organiser, and no later than 3 November 2023.

SAFETY

For the duration of the races, the race course route will be closed to all traffic and secured by volunteers, security guards, and traffic police officers. An ambulance will be present at the start/finish line, and a vehicle will be available on the race course in case of necessary transport of competitors who have dropped out or need emergency assistance.

Different start packages are given out for different races. A full start package is guaranteed for all competitors who have registered and paid the entry fee by 21 September 2023.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Organiser reserves the right to change certain elements of the announcement. Any changes will be made public under: https://hr-hr.facebook.com/omiskipolumaraton/

The Organiser undertakes to send all the participants an e-mail containing the most important information regarding the race schedule, pick-up of start packages, free parking, etc. by the race day at the latest.

The bib number is to be placed on the chest only and must be visible throughout the race. During the race, a competitor must have a chip attached to the race bib; his/her placement will otherwise not be recorded.

ORGANISER’S DISCLAIMER

By registering for and participating in the race, all competitors accept the following conditions:

• By registering for and participating in the race, the competitor confirms to do so at his/her own risk.

• The competitor accepts that the Organiser shall not be liable, either indirectly, directly, separately or jointly, for any form of damage incurred to him/her through participation in the race, caused by his/her own negligence or fault or by negligence and fault of other competitors or third parties, before, during or after the race.

• The competitor is liable for any form of damage to third parties caused or contributed to by his/her own negligence or fault.
• For the duration of the race, and immediately before and after the race, the competitor shall observe the officially published rules, instructions on safe movement, and participation requirements set by the Organiser, as well as follow the instructions of judges, security guards and other persons involved in the organisation of the race on site.
• The competitor waives the right to legally claim compensation from the Organiser for any form of damage caused to him/her through participation in the race.

CONSENT FOR THE USE OF PERSONAL DATA AND PHOTOGRAPHS

All personal data contained in the registration forms will be used only for the purposes of organisation of the “Omiš Half Marathon”, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (OG 42/2018), subject to appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, loss or destruction. The data shall not be made available to any third party, and all personal data will be deleted following the end of the race.

By registering for the race, the competitor agrees that the Organiser can use photos taken during, immediately before, and after the race for their internal needs and for the purposes of promotion of the event.
